Keep Track of Sandy
Tropical Storm Sandy has been strengthening in the Caribbean Sea and is now headed northward towards the Bahamas. The present forecast track turns the system offshore before reaching North Carolina, but the track could change for the worse. Dr. Jeff Masters (Weather Underground) warns how this could become an event like "The Perfect Storm".  However it unfolds, the coast will be impacted by strong winds and waves in the coming days. Some coastal flooding is expected due to the spring tides. Residents and visitors to the coasts are encouraged to monitor the situation and be prepared for stormy weather and careful of the hazardous ocean conditions.
